Evil sudoku online
“Evil” is a community nickname for very hard classic sudoku: sparse givens, long stretches without trivial singles, and real need for pairs, pointing, or harder chains depending on the seed. Same rules as the how-to page — different patience budget.
This URL locks an evil-band puzzle. It is not a horror skin and not a different digit alphabet.
When
When to use
Hard is too gentle; you searched evil sudoku; you want a long session with classic constraints only.
When not
When not to
You want a warm-up → home or later easy/medium pages. You want sum cages → killer sudoku. You need strategy vocabulary first → sudoku strategy.
Defaults
Assumptions
Still unique-solution classic 9×9. “Evil” is our generation band label aligned with common search language (alongside expert/extreme on other pages). Not affiliated with any newspaper brand.
Steps
How
- Open with pencil discipline — messy notes will gaslight you.
- Harvest every single/pair before staring at fancy chains.
- Use Hint as a coach for one step; try to re-find it.
- Walk away and return — evil grids reward fresh eyes more than rage clicks.
Worked notes
Examples
- After twenty minutes you finally place one digit → normal — evil is slow by design
- Hint cites a pointing pair; you clear a candidate line and three singles fall out → typical cascade
Watch-outs
Gotchas
- Some sites reuse “evil” for a branded daily; we generate locally in-band, not a NYT clone.
- A single Hint is not a solve-for-me button.
- Comparing time-to-finish with friends is fine; we do not host a verified global ladder.
